The Department of Geography’s major fields of teaching and research include physical geography, social geography, natural resources, geographic information systems and geomatics and environmental studies. The department trains specialized teachers and researchers in these areas to meet the needs of educational institutions and of both public and private organizations. Sociology encourages you to take a critical look at society and equips you with the skills and resources to do so in an informed way. Starting with such broad themes as culture, identity, power, and globalization, the curriculum explores various aspects of society such as ethnic relations, the experiences of minority groups, and the role of women, international development and political sociology. A French immersion stream is available with this program.
