Studies in Social and Political Thought seek to bridge the divide between social theory, political theory, anthropological theory, philosophy, the history of social and political theory, and the study of political and social ideologies and movements.
The discipline aims to teach you how to think critically and independently about social and political issues; to relate sociological theories to their philosophical underpinnings and political implications; to develop critical social awareness; and to develop intellectual curiosity, confidence and skills.
