French (B.A. 3-year)
||Concordia University College of Alberta
|Field of Study:
French Language and Literature, General
Concordia's French program is built upon dynamic principles that give you a sound basis in French grammar. These concepts are presented in meaningful contexts, so that the acquiring of communicative skills is parallelled by a growing awareness of the cultural and literary traditions of Francophone countries.|
Our instructors are committed to enlivening the study of French through the introduction of contemporary video and other resource materials into the course material. Students are encouraged to apply for a five-week government bursary to Quebec, or for a four-week course in France. A degree in French opens up career options in the Canadian government or in businesses where a knowledge of French is essential; it may also serve as a prelude to graduate work or a career in teaching.
