French Language Teacher Education
Description:
Located at the Glendon campus, the Bachelor of Education (French) Concurrent Teacher Education Program is designed for those who wish to teach in French immersion schools at the primary/junior level. At least half of your courses will be taught in French and emphasis is on ensuring a deep understanding of Francophone culture.
This new program offers a third-year exchange option in a Francophone environment, such as Quebec, other parts of Canada and several European locations. As well, you will have a choice of an equivalent experience of 12 credits in French within a French cultural context.
You enter the concurrent program in your second year. One year is added to your undergraduate studies and in the remaining four years you work concurrently to complete the requirements of your undergraduate program as well as the professional teaching program. You enter the consecutive full- or part-time program if you hold an undergraduate degree.
