| Description: |
The International Studies program provides students with working knowledge of the global community in which they live, and prepares them to pursue careers involving international interactions. The program consists of an integrated group of courses reflecting international aspects from cultural, economic, environmental, legal, political and social perspectives. Foreign language training and study abroad experiences are also incorporated into the program.
A Major program in International Studies consists of at least 48 credits, and it has a two-tier structure. It is designed to provide the student with a broad base of understanding of the interrelationship of the world community, while at the same time providing the opportunity to specialize in an area of interest. While all students have to complete 18 credits of foundation courses, 12 credits of language courses and an international exchange or an international internship, students should normally choose one of two concentrations to complete the last 18 credits.
