Description: Entomology is about insects and their relatives, and focuses on biology, ecology, evolution and behaviour.

Some insects are key pests in various ecosystems, and insect pest management is globally important – for this reason the specialization includes applied entomology.

Students in this specialization will also gain field experience, and will be skilled in insect taxonomy and systematics. Through careful selection of complementary courses, students can learn about the role of insects in various ecosystems, their functional importance, and their role in vectoring human disease.
