Description: Neuroscience is the study of the brain. It is a rapidly developing research area that includes all aspects of the structure and function of nervous systems. Knowledge obtained from neuroscience research is applied to a variety of human health problems, such as Alzheimer disease, Parkinson disease and a variety of drug or injury-induced behavioural disorders. Research in neuroscience is also contributing new information related to major psychiatric disorders, including affective disorders and the schizophrenias.
