Biochemistry is that part of chemistry, which deals with chemical changes occurring in biologically relevant systems; i.e. changes taking place in living cells that are responsible for life processes. The program consists of courses in Molecular and General Genetics, Cell Biology, Cell Physiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics and Cell Biology labs, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Biophysical Chemistry. The Specialization is similar to Honours, but the Research Project and Thesis is replaced by an additional advanced laboratory course.

Quebec CEGEPS applicants must have completion of a two-year pre-university program or a three-year professional DEC (Diplôme d'études collégiales). For students from other provinces, Concordia requires a high school diploma and between four and five Grade 12 subjects.
