Drama School: University of Alberta Faculty: Faculty of Arts Degree: Bachelor ; Co-op ; Honours Field of Study: Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts, General Description: The BA Drama Honors program offers the exceptional student an opportunity for intensive study in theatre history and critical theory as well as in the creative components of theatre art. Through their research, analysis and process of writing an honors essay, students acquire an excellent foundation for further training as a theatre scholar, critic, dramaturge or director. An annual colloquium is held for students to publicly present their research projects. Entrance to Drama Honors ordinarily takes place at the end of the second year of university study. Students must complete at least 24 credits of BA coursework prior to entering the program and have a minimum Admission Grade Point Average (GPA ) of 3.0 in all courses, with an average of 3.3 or higher in Drama coursework.
