The program allows students to study art, folk, and popular music traditions, emphasizing academic work rather than performance. Admission in the first year is also dependent upon a high matriculation average. Successful completion of aural skills and theory placement tests is required prior to admission. Admission to subsequent years requires a GPA of 3.0 with an average of 3.3 in music courses.
