A trend toward healthier lifestyles and personalized fitness solutions has created a growing demand for qualified personal fitness trainers. Many fitness and recreation facilities are hiring personal fitness trainers to enhance the service they offer to clients. There are also many entrepreneurial opportunities for personal fitness trainers to establish their own client base.
The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology has approved NAIT to offer courses and examine candidates for the nationally recognized CSEP-CPT certification. The National Strength and Conditioning Association also officially recognizes NAIT's Personal Fitness Trainer program.
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
Grade 12 English
Grade 12 Applied Mathematics or Grade 12 Pure Mathematics
Grade 12 Biology
Chemistry 30 and Physical Education 30 are strongly recommended.
