Description: Mechanical Engineering involves the design, construction and control of machines and equipment, as well as the research and development of new processes, materials and techniques. Mechanical engineers are involved in an astounding array of fields such as internal combustion or jet engine design, vibration analysis, control engineering, production engineering, materials handling, measurements, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

This program focuses on machinery design, computer aided design and manufacturing, production and materials engineering, finite element analysis, and design and fabrication of microsystems.

  • A course in introductory programming is strongly recommended.

    Quebec CEGEPS applicants must have completion of a two-year pre-university program or a three-year professional DEC (Diplôme d'études collégiales). For students from other provinces, Concordia requires a high school diploma and between four and five Grade 12 subjects.
