The Geography program an NU is exceptional since the university is situated right in the heart of some of Canada’s most interesting Physical and Environmental Geography. The program offers students the ability to engage in field work and research that is simply not matched at other institutions. This program leads to a Bachelor of Arts in Geography.
Geography majors have a variety of options available to them after graduation. Many of our students pursue further education with either graduate school (e.g. Masters or Doctorate) or professional school (e.g. teaching or law). Please note that many or most of the careers listed below require additional degrees, diplomas, certificates, or specialized training: oceanographer, paleontologist, petrologist, sedimentologist, seismologist, stratigrapher, pollution control inspector, water inspector, meteorologist, urban and land use planners, land surveyors, and mapping technologist.
