We think this is an exciting time to be undertaking studies in French and Spanish: students all over North America are increasingly recognizing the importance of language studies for careers, not only in traditional areas such as teaching and public service, but in the business world as well. As Canada looks more and more to make new contacts in Europe and Latin America, knowledge of languages other than English comes to be seen not as something of a luxury but simply as something expected of everyone seeking a satisfying position in the job market.
