Graduates work in both large and small organizations, such as dealerships, manu­facturers, service and repair shops, parts distributors, retail stores, wholesalers, insurance appraisers and adjustors, and manufacturing plants for automotive-related items. Their activities may include repairs, writing customer service orders, sales, customer relations, parts counter service, warranty claim processing, supervision, and insurance appraisal. Graduates of the one-year certificate program are prepared for careers as parts and counter personnel, with entry-level salaries starting from approximately $30,000. Employable skills learned in the program can help them enter into an apprenticeship as an Automotive Technician, or they may choose to continue in the ­second year and complete a diploma.
