| Description: |
Historians examine a variety of evidence from written, oral, and visual sources to help them interpret the past. As a student of History, you will explore the careers of major figures, like Galileo, Gandhi, Hirohito, and Stalin, who have contributed to world affairs. You will also study the everyday experiences of men and women who have worked to secure their own livelihoods. Besides major conflicts, from the Peloponesian War in ancient Greece to the Second World War and the Cold War, you may study the history of institutions like the family and changes in the relationships between men and women, parents, and children.
The Honours degree in History is the highest undergraduate History degree one can receive, and any student considering History as their major is urged strongly to consider the Honours program.
