| Description: |
Mennonite Studies is an interdisciplinary program that explores the history, social relations, religious ideals, and culture of the Mennonites. This program offers students an opportunity to study the rich heritage of the Mennonites and their contribution to society. Mennonite Studies is an interdisciplinary program that combines studies in history with religion, culture, and literature as they relate to the Mennonites. Through small and student-friendly courses and seminars you will explore the past and present culture of the Mennonites, especially their deeply-rooted commitment to peace and non-violence. The question of how the Mennonites evolved from the radical 16th century Anabaptists to a globalized people seeking peace, community, and justice is a major part of the program.
It is possible to obtain a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Mennonite Studies by creating a Flexible Major in consultation with the Chair in Mennonite Studies.
