Requirements for Canadian Students
Ontario Students:
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six Grade 12 U or M courses at the end of the current school year with an overall average of 65% and 70% for Business. Please refer to specific program requirements.
Quebec Students:
Completion of Year 1 of a CEGEP program or equivalent.
Other Canadian Students:
Grade 12 Diploma. Requirements for International Students
International applications are individually assessed on country-specific criteria. Normally, applicants must meet the requirements for admission to a university in their home country. If you have completed university courses, transfer credit (if applicable) will be determined by the admissions office upon receipt of official transcripts. Please refer to the Web site admission requirements.
Proof of English language proficiency is required to attend Algoma U or successful completion of SPELL, Sault Program for English Language Learning, with a 70% or higher. Procedure for Canadian Students
To enroll full-time in Algoma University for September admission, you must apply via the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC). You can either apply on-line at www.ouac.on.ca or request a paper application from OUAC by calling 519-823-1940.
Use application 101 if you are currently enrolled in an Ontario high school, otherwise, use application 105.
All January, May, and part-time applicants must apply directly to Algoma U. You can request a paper application by emailing info@algomau.ca or phone (705) 949-2301 ext. 4217. You can also apply on-line.
1. Complete the Algoma University application.
2. Send official transcripts (high school, college, and university if applicable).
3. Send non-refundable $50.00 (Canadian funds) application fee payable to Algoma University.

4. Provide proof of English language proficiency.

IELTS 6.0
MELAB 90%
CanTEST 4.50
CAEL 60
Successful completion of Algoma University's ESL Program with a 70% or higher.

Algoma University has three intakes:
1. September (fall)
2. January (winter)
3. May (spring)
Algoma U has rolling admission; therefore, applications will be accepted on a continuous basis for September, January, and May admission.
It is recommended that Canadian students apply at least two months prior to their intended start date. It is recommended that international students apply at least four to five months prior to their intended start date in order to have sufficient time to secure a study permit. |
