Admissions

Requirements for Canadian Students
From High School: For general admission, English and four additional university preparatory courses are required. Minimum final grades of 65% in English and an overall average of 70%.

Please consult the Web site for program specific prerequisites. Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee entrance to many programs.

Requirements for International Students
Equivalent to Canadian student requirements. Students generally meet the admission requirements at universities in their home country. Students whose first language is not English are required to submit proof of proficiency in English. (Minimum 580 TOEFL, 7 IELTS, and 70 CAEL for full-time admission.)

Scores less than 580 (237 computer based) can do language upgrading while enrolling part-time. Transfer students from other universities will have their credits assessed for Dalhousie transfer.

Procedure for Canadian Students
Undergraduate applicants should submit an application form by June 1 and an official transcript of grades. A $45.00 application fee is required. These documents should be sent directly to the Registrar's Office. High school students who want to be considered for entrance scholarships must submit a completed application form by March 15. Application forms are available to download from the Dalhousie Web site. International applicants should submit the application by April 1.
