Requirements for International Students
CONSECUTIVE BACHELOR OF EDUCATION PROGRAM: ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. English Language Proficiency:
An acceptable level of proficiency in oral and written English as described in the OISE Teacher Education English Language Proficiency Policy.

2. Academic Requirement
An approved degree with at least a “B” range average.

3. Experience Background
You will be asked to document three meaningful experiences that you think have prepared you for teaching. These experiences can take a wide variety of forms. What is most important is the ability to clearly articulate the insights that have been gained from these experiences in terms of an understanding of teaching and learning, and an understanding of teachers’ roles in appreciating diversity and promoting equity and social justice.

TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM: ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. Basic Academic Requirement
Ontario secondary school graduation, or equivalent.

2. English Language Proficiency
An acceptable level of proficiency in oral and written English as described in the OISE Teacher Education English Language Proficiency Policy.

3. Formal Technical Education/Proof of Competence
Depending on your selected Technological Education teaching subject you will need either an approved Certificate of Qualification or an approved post-secondary degree/diploma.

4. Skilled Wage-Earning Experience
Depending on how you have satisfied the Formal Technical Education/Proof of Competence requirement, you will need between 2 and 5 years of full-time skilled wage-earning experience.

5. Background Related to Teaching
You will be asked to document three meaningful experiences you have had to prepare you for teaching. These experiences can take a wide variety of forms.
