Notes for Canadian Students
Financial support is available to The University of Winnipeg students in many different forms, from scholarships and awards to loans and bursaries. Each year, The University of Winnipeg recognizes high school graduates with outstanding academic, leadership, extracurricular, and athletic achievements through its comprehensive entrance scholarship program. Entrance scholarships range in value from $100.00 to $10,500.00. The University of Winnipeg continues to reward students who achieve a high academic average throughout the upper years of their degree programs. Undergraduate academic proficiency and various departmental scholarships are available each year, ranging in value from $100.00 to $4,000.00. In the 2006-2007 academic year, The University of Winnipeg awarded approximately $1.7 million in entrance and undergraduate scholarships. In addition, The University of Winnipeg students received over $5 million in the form of government financial aid and an additional $140,000.00 in bursaries from the university.
Notes for International Students
Students admitted on the basis of academic credentials earned outside Canada are not eligible for entrance scholarship consideration, but are considered for academic proficiency scholarships after the completion of 30 credit hours. Students in Canada on student authorization are not eligible for government assistance.
