Incoming Students
The International Education Centre (IEC) provides special support to international students to help them to adapt to the College. Special advisory services include health insurance, airport pick up, homestay/residence, orientation, academic advising, and visa inquiries and special tutoring during the first days of classes. Staff at the IEC are also able to help international students use the wide variety of other services available to all Algonquin students including Internet accounts, health services, and peer tutoring.
Career Planning
Algonquin College provides international students with academic advising services that helps them select a program that would lead to their career and personal goals.
Student services also provides a referral service by matching your resume with job postings and also submitting it on your behalf.

Notes Algonquin's varsity teams, the Algonquin Thunders, compete in the Ontario College Athletics Association in basketball, rugby, curling, volleyball, and soccer. Also, Woodroffe Campus offers a fitness centre fully equipped with weight lifting equipment and the latest cardio machines including treadmills and rowers. The College has opened a new soccer facility with synthetic turf and seating for 300 spectators, a 6,000 square foot clubhouse, officials and coaches rooms, and a therapy clinic. The soccer facility can be used year round for competitive sports.
Activities
The International Education Centre hosts special events throughout the year such as skiing, skating, and tours of the many tourist attractions that Ottawa, the nation's capital, has to offer.
Clubs
The Student Association provides funding for students interested in starting their own clubs on campus such as the International Student Club and the Chinese Students' Association.
Information Technology
With the increase in technology, Algonquin has continued to provide current services in online learning, blackboard, and our own ACSIS, which allows students to view their information, classes, grades, and more. There are over 80 computer labs available on campus. 24 hour labs are also available. Students are given a username, password, e-mail, and Internet access that can be utilized at the College, residence, or at home
Cultural
Ottawa is home to many national museums including the Museum of Civilization and the Museum of Science and Technology. Ottawa is also home to the prestigious National Art Gallery. The city hosts many festivals and celebrations each year and is a favourite destination for tourists. The city has a variety of rich cultural communities that reflect Canada's policy of diversity and tolerance.
Special Services
The Centre for Students with Disabilities (CSD) provides educational support services to students with disabilities applying to or attending Algonquin College. Assistance is available for students who may: 1. Have a learning disability; 2. Be blind or visually impaired; 3. Be hard of hearing or deaf/deafened; 4. Have multiple disabilities; 5. Have a mental health disability; 6. Have a head injury; and/or 7. Have a physical disability or be mobility impaired.
Affiliated Institutions
The College offers collaborative degree programs with Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. There are also numerous articulation agreements with many other Canadian universities including Lakehead University, McMaster University, Ryerson Polytechnic University, University of Lethbridge, Brock University, University of Guelph, Nipissing University, and others.
International Involvement
The International Education Centre ensures that Algonquin College plays a part in Canada's response to the global marketplace and the developing of world's needs for technical, managerial, and vocational training. More than 200 Algonquin staff worked in various countries around the world. In addition, there are international students from more than 70 countries studying at the College. Algonquin has a campus in India and offers programs in Montenegro and China.

Other
The College offers professional counselling, student tutoring, peer support, and a fully staffed health clinic. The College also has an active Students' Association that supports club activities, a housing program, and an athletics program.
