On-campus Housing
Notes
We are pleased to offer you a guaranteed place in residence as long as you will be a new, full-time, semester one (Class Level One) undergraduate student, and your application and deposit for housing are received by the deadline date of May 28, 2007 at 4:30 p.m. EDT. If you are interested in a quieter than average community in which to pursue your studies, you should consider applying to live in a study intensive hall. A study intensive hall is an area in residence where 24 hour quiet hours are in effect. If you would like to live in a study intensive hall, you will be asked to complete an additional application, which will help us assess your suitability for such an environment. Study intensive halls may be located in a number of different residences on campus depending on demand.
Off-campus Housing
Notes
The University has a policy of providing residence housing for new undergraduate students who apply by the May 28 deadline; this is our department's primary responsibility and priority. We must then accommodate students who lived in residence for the winter and summer semesters and wish to return. It is after this that, we can begin to accommodate off-campus students. This means that we cannot guarantee you a space in residence, but we will do our best to provide you with a space as soon as we can. You can optimize your chances of receiving a room by submitting your application and deposit as soon as the application is available. Generally, there is a good selection of accommodation off-campus and most students seek off-campus housing in the summer. Full-time students receive a city bus pass when they pay their tuition.
Incoming Students
There's a team of hundreds of orientation volunteers, more than one hundred event planners, almost 140 residence life staff, 60 hall council members, and eight orientation team members, plus multitudes of staff, faculty, and administration who will greet you when you arrive on campus. Your orientation week is the week after Labour Day and will introduce you to the social, academic, and cultural environment here at Guelph. There are always many events planned; some to introduce you to other students, some to feed you, and some to help you understand how you can study and learn in a university setting. From On Campus Recruiting (OCR) job search and workopoliscampus.com to listings of various other online jobsites, Guelph University's career services provides you with a centralized place in which to access job opportunities and postings. And in addition to on campus career counselling, we operate and run the WEBmajors Career Site, an initiative of Guelph University's career services designed to provide a clearinghouse of career and employment information related to the various majors and areas of study available to students studying in a post-secondary university institution. The WEBmajors Career Site is a valuable tool in helping students, graduates, and alumni begin to answer that timeless question, "What can I do with a degree in ...?".

Information Technology
The University provides an integrated communications package to access the many electronic services from on or off campus. These services include Internet, e-mail, Web instruction, conferencing, and laser printing. All student residences are directly connected to the Internet via the campus high speed network. Off-campus students also have free high speed access.
Cultural
Cultural services include the Macdonald Stewart Art Centre, Donald Forster Sculpture Park, Inner Stage Theatre, Bachinski-Chu Print Study Collection, Zavitz Hall Studios, CFRU radio station, two student newspapers, music practice rooms, and the two libraries.
Special Services
Services available are the Centre for Students with Disabilities, Human Rights and Equity Office, the Learning Opportunities Program, and the Women's Resource Centre. Specially designed accessible residence rooms are also available.
International Involvement
Close to 300 students take advantage of overseas study opportunities and exchange programs every year. Currently, the University has 65 international study programs in 20 countries. The University of Guelph also has five major study overseas semesters open to all students including the London semester, the Krakow (Poland) semester, the India semester, the Paris and Cannes semesters, and the Latin America semester.
