Concordia University College of Alberta emphasizes teaching excellence in a caring university atmosphere. Our instructors are committed to quality in teaching and research, giving you a rigorous, student focused university education in an engaging environment. As a Christian university college, Concordia also adds purpose and meaning to your education by encouraging personal integrity, leadership, and community responsibility.
Established in 1921, Concordia began offering university level arts and science courses in 1967 and received degree granting status from the province of Alberta in 1987. A member of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, Concordia currently offers accredited bachelor degrees in Arts, Education, Environmental Health, Management, and Science as well as a master's degree in Information Systems Security Management. From its Lutheran roots, Concordia has built a learning community where students are encouraged to examine the world, empowered to seek their own understanding, and equipped to grow from the experience, all in a liberal arts tradition.
Concordia’s greatest strength is its size. With an enrolment of 1,800, students benefit from smaller classes and access to their professors. A 2004 Alberta wide survey of graduating university students found that 93% of Concordia graduates were satisfied with the quality of education they received, compared with 69% at other Alberta universities. Concordia’s emphasis on teaching works for its students. |
