Our student population is very multicultural with students from over 70 countries worldwide. We currently have 18,000 full-time students on campus in programs in the areas of Advanced Technology, Algonquin College Centre of Construction Excellence, Business, Hospitality and Tourism, Media Arts and Design, Health and Community Studies, Police and Public Safety, General Arts and Science and the Language Institute. Algonquin programs focus on both theory and applied studies, and we work closely with local industry experts to ensure that our curriculum meets the needs of employers. Many programs offer students the opportunity to complete co-op work placements with our industry partners or field work placements with local agencies and organizations.
Study in Ottawa, Canada’s Capital, the fourth largest city in Canada with over 1,800 private advanced technology companies. Ottawa is known as “Silicon Valley North” and Algonquin students have the opportunity to complete internships with companies in Ottawa leading to post-graduate employment opportunities. Graduates of two year diplomas may apply for two year work permits in their field of study!

Academic programs are offered within the following faculties: Advanced Technology, the Centre for Construction Excellence, Business, Health Sciences, Community Studies, Hospitality and Tourism, Media and Design, Police and Public Safety Institute, Transportation and Building Trades, the Language Institute, the Centre for Continuing and Online Learning (full-time online programs), the Algonquin College Heritage Institute (Perth Campus) and Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley (Pembroke Campus).
The Language Institute accepts students year round who wish to prepare for college admission. The College can make conditional offers of admission for students planning to study in the Language Institute.
