| As one of the most comprehensive universities in Canada, Thompson Rivers University offers over 100 programs including four year degrees in over 40 disciplines, a growing number of post-graduate specialties, M.B.A. to career diploma programs, and various distance education options. Additionally, TRU offers 19 major career diploma programs that provide an option to ladder into a bachelor’s degree. | TRU is known for its unique degree programs in natural resource science, journalism, adventure tourism, business or tourism management, applied computing science, fine arts, and theatre. Unique diploma programs include respiratory therapy, animal health technology, events and conventions management, adventure guiding, electronics, and computer systems management. Sports event management is a new diploma that ladders into the TRU tourism degree, and new degrees in both physical education and secondary education are on the way. As part of becoming British Columbia's newest university, TRU will also be taking over all distance education degrees and diplomas from the British Columbia Open University, and expanding the number of courses and programs that can be accessed by distance. |
