Pharmacy (PharmD [USA], PharmD or BS/BPharm [Canada])
Description:
The first degree program in Pharrmacy is four years. The courses to be taken in the first three years of the program are specified and are considered basic to the education of pharmacists. The fourth year allows for some specialization through electives.
There is no direct entry from high school into the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program. Students must first complete a year of university in the Faculty of Science and take courses in English, biology, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, mathematics and statistics. In addition students need to write a letter of intent, stating their career goals, knowledge of the profession, related experience and reasons for applying. Admission to the program is competitive based on a students performance in the required courses, their letter of intent and their overall academic record.
Minimum GPA 3.5 out of 4.0.
