| Description: |
Art history is the study of the translation of ideas into visual form through time and space. It looks at the relationship between art and the events that occur within the cultural context of a society, as well as how the religious, political, and social milieu are reflected in images produced within that culture. Art history is divided into areas of concentration defined by time, location, culture and theme. It examines broad ranges of historical styles as well as identifying the achievements of artists and patrons.
