Everyone loves stories, and stories have a profound impact on the world around us and on our own lives. As an English major, you will be joining a lively community dedicated to exploring literature written in English in Canada and around the globe, and you will have opportunities to write creative work of your own and to explore new modes of technological literacy. Studies in English promote clear thought, effective writing, and sharp analytical skills. Graduates are well-equipped to enter law school, graduate school in English, and other postgraduate programs that value analysis and communication and a sophisticated understanding of the relationships between language and culture. The London Semester and other overseas study opportunities are popular options for English students.
Career opportunities may be available in digital media and journalism, public relations, teaching, law, and government.
