The Department of French encourages the development of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, as well as the opportunity to study the culture and literature of France, French Canada and other areas of the French speaking world. Exchange programs to Dijon (France) and to Dakar (Senegal) are available to students at all levels of proficiency in French.
Classes are offered for beginners, as well as for those who already have a background in the language and wish to maintain and improve their skills. The program makes use of language laboratory facilities. This degree is available as a three- or four-year program.
