Women's Studies examines the historical and contemporary conditions of women in society by utilizing feminist theory and research methodologies. It provides students with an opportunity to broaden their knowledge of women and explores feminism as an important influence in political and social movements. Central to many areas is the study of gender and power relations between women and men as an analytical tool. Courses are presented from an interdisciplinary perspective with a foundation of feminist theory as the basis for critical analyses.
