Nursing

School: Cape Breton University
Faculty: School of Professional Studies
Degree: Bachelor
Field of Study: Nursing/Registered Nurse (RN, ASN, BSN, MSN)
Description: The Cape Breton University Nursing Program strives for excellence in preparing our future nurses to be knowledgeable, competent, compassionate, and ethical professionals, prepared to provide leadership and scholarship in all areas of nursing practice. Our small classes and experienced Faculty and Nurse Practice Educators work together to foster a learner-centered environment that instils values of critical inquiry, reflective practice and life-long learning. Throughout our program we develop and advance nursing knowledge, while working proactively to advocate for and work toward eliminating social inequities.

The Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) has announced a unanimous decision in favour of the accreditation of Cape Breton University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. This was CBU’s first accreditation review as an independent nursing program. CASN is the national voice for nursing education, research, and scholarship, and represents baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs in Canada.
