Description: UOIT offers a one-year Consecutive Bachelor of Education degree program focused on teaching at the Grade K-6 level. The program is unique in its emphasis on preparing elementary school teacher candidates who are strong in the areas of science, mathematics and technology and who are skilled in the use of teaching and learning technologies. UOIT's program is fully web-enabled, with every teacher candidate having a laptop computer and wireless access to the Internet. Educational technology is thoroughly integrated into the teaching and learning process. Teacher candidates become comfortable and confident with this tool for course design and delivery, communication with peers, colleagues, and faculty, and as a method of supporting their own life-long professional development.

Admission Requirements
Grade for Entrance Previous Year (%)*: 70 to 100
Prerequisites:

Applicants will hold an undergraduate degree from a recognized university, with a minimum overall academic average of 70 per cent (B- or 2.7 GPA) in their best 10 full-year, or best 20 half-year courses completed. Preference will be given to students with four-year honours degrees. Because Primary/Junior teachers deal with a wide range of subject areas, it is desirable that applicants have a broad academic background. In assessing the academic breadth of Primary/Junior applicants, the Faculty of Education gives preference to candidates who have one or more 3 credit hour undergraduate or graduate courses in the subject groupings listed: English/Linguistics/Languages, Mathematics/Statistics, Physical Sciences/Life Sciences,Visual Arts/Music/Drama, and Social Sciences/Humanities.
