English as a Second Language School: Cambrian College Faculty: Community and Workforce Development Degree: Certificate Field of Study: English as a Second Language Description: In Cambrian's ESL Program, students will learn English through classroom instruction by meeting Canadian students and by exploring the life of a mid-sized Canadian city. Students will be assigned a Cambrian student with whom to practice English. Cambrian College welcomes ESL students at any level, from beginner to advanced. The ESL staff at the College are highly qualified. The College has the most advanced teaching and learning materials that come from up-to-date textbooks, magazines, newspapers, television and the Internet. By the end of one year, students should be successful in the everyday language requirements of Canadian life and should have a solid foundation for future studies. Note: For this program, students apply directly to Cambrian College and not through OCAS (Ontario College Application Services).
