A degree in English provides a valuable background for many different professional careers. English literature will give you insights into ideas and issues which inspire and ignite us, and into the connections of our present and our past. As you proceed through the program, you will develop your analytical and critical capacities, become more sensitive to language in its traditional and technological applications, and hone your writing skills, abilities and knowledge, essential not only for students of English literature and language, but increasingly for students in the fields of science and technology.

Grade 12 English
To apply for admission into an English Plan, normally you must: be in good academic standing, have successfully completed ten courses and have taken at least one (and preferably two) ENGL courses.
