Certified Dental assistants practice effective interpersonal skills and maintain collaborative relationships with all members of the oral health care team in the delivery of patient centered care. In addition they are skilled at using technology for communication, exercise critical thinking and decision-making abilities, apply dental knowledge to clinical situations and demonstrate both personal and professional management. Their education and training, professionalism and experience coupled with provincial registration qualify them to perform a variety of supportive and direct patient care procedures.
Applicants must have completed Grade 12 or qualify for mature student status. Graduates from internationally accredited dentistry programs will be considered.
