The Certificate in Modern Arabic Language and Culture program aims to provide minimum language competency in Modern Standard Arabic and, through the inclusion of courses on culture, literature and topics offered by other departments (history, religion, and political science), a broad overview of Arabic culture.
Learning one or more of the modern languages is particularly useful in today’s employment market. Globalization has led to a mingling of languages like never before, and the training that goes into learning a new language opens up a vast horizon of new cul-tures, histories, and works of literature, whether it’s for continued personal enrichment or possible graduate study.
Students must hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (D.E.C.).
