Description: This option permits highly motivated students to combine the study of Latin-America and the Caribbean with a theme or intellectual focus whose roots extend beyond the geographic confines of this area, and for which a high level of methodological and/or theoretical expertise is required.

Themes of study may include, but are not limited to: ethnography and ethno-history, the age of European expansion, trans-nationalism, the concepts and practice of law and justice, nationalism and nation-building, ecology and the management of human and natural resources.

Prerequisites:

Newly admitted students from CEGEP or new LACS students who have AP or university credits in Spanish Language courses will need to take a placement test.
