Communication Studies/Speech Communication and Rhetoric
Description:
The Department of Communication offers interdisciplinary training in organizational communication and media studies that keep well in step with the evolution of social needs and the development of information and communication technologies. Combining theory and practice, the department’s courses help students to both develop critical and analytical skills, and acquire professional skills and know how.
Ours is the information age. Analyzing how information is gathered, produced and distributed today helps you understand the communication processes that drive a variety of settings: social, cultural, political, economic and legal. In this program, you also evaluate the nature and impact of emerging media, such as the Internet, arguably the most powerful communication tool of our times.
