| Description: |
English programs offer students the opportunity through literary studies to develop the critical thinking and communications skills that will be useful in throughout students' career and which will help prepare students for jobs in copy writing, advertising, marketing, media research, public relations, arts management and speech writing.
An English degree can also be an important first step towards a career in law, teaching, counselling, editing, writing, journalism, publishing, diplomacy, management, hospitality, film and television. Our goal is to provide students with a useful knowledge of literary works, both as art forms and as documents of human behaviour. By studying English literature, students will gain a vision of humanity as expressed in verbal art that crosses boundaries of time and place.
