SPELL School: Algoma University Degree: Certificate Field of Study: English as a Second Language Description: The Sault Program for English Language Learning (SPELL) is a pre-academic program designed for students seeking to improve their English language skills. In particular, the curriculum is focussed on providing instruction to support students who wish to pursue university-level studies in English. There are five levels of SPELL (ENGL 0001, 0002, 0003, 0004, and 0005). Successful completion of ENGL 0005 with 70% or greater is required to receive the SPELL completion certificate. Successful completion of SPELL level 5 (ENGL 0005) provides students with the English language proficiency requirement for admission to the degree program.
