Applied Environmental Studies, offered jointly by The University of Winnipeg and Red River College, is designed to provide you with both theoretical and applied knowledge in environmental analysis and problem solving. Students who enrolled in the four-year program will attend The University of Winnipeg in Years One, Two, and Four, and will attend Red River College in Year Three. Those who successfully complete the program will receive a joint parchment for a four-year Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Winnipeg and an Environmental Protection Technology diploma from Red River College.
This program is specifically designed to serve the needs of health and science-based industries in Manitoba. With many thriving companies and agencies - such as Apotex, Biovail, McCains, Laidlaw, Agrifoods International, Enviro-Test Laboratories, Can Arnesta Foods, National Research Council, the Federal Disease Control/Virology Laboratory, Canadian Agra Corporation, Louisiana Pacific, Cabot Performance Materials, BFI Waste Systems, and Prairie Harvest Canada Ltd., to name a few - this need will continue in the coming years.
