| Description: |
Geography is an integrative science that explores the earth as a whole system through study of the earth’s physical environment, its resources and the human activities that occur on its surface. Geography seeks to understand and explain interactions between the land and its people, measure the impact of one on the other, and devise a system that will ensure a sustainable coexistence for both the environment and its inhabitants. The Geography program at the University of Calgary aims to develop the student’s ability to think critically and logically about the influence of place and spatial relationships in human activities, human-environment interactions, and in physical processes on or near the surface of the earth.
This program is also available as a Bachelor of Science.
The Co-op program provides students the opportunity to gain related work experience while completing their degree.
