| Description: |
This flexible specialization offers a balance between food systems and consumption and agricultural production. It provides students with an opportunity to select courses in the economics, nutrition and ethical and environmental implications of food systems and in the fundamentals of animal and plant production. The program has a strong field and laboratory component as well as opportunities for doing internships on farms and agri-business firms. We use the Macdonald Campus Farm and greenhouses for laboratory exercises, and also visit a wide range of local farms and other agricultural enterprises during the course of the program.
