| Description: |
Biology studies living things and the discipline defines a living creatures, technically called a living "organism", as one that has a metabolism and reproduces. Biology can also be combined with other fields. For example, biochemistry, biophysics, biotechnology and biopsychology are all important fields related to biology.
Your first undergraduate year is comprised of introductory courses in basic science subjects that prepare you for more advanced study in biology. First-year biology classes include a one-hour tutorial with the professor as well as peer-mentoring tutorial sessions run by some of our best senior undergraduate students. In the second year, you develop a firm grounding in major areas of the life sciences.
