Geography - Water Science (B.Sc.) It explains the organization of space and differences between areas through detailed studies of spatial patterns and processes.The study of Geography requires students to address research questions from a distinctly geographic perspective while drawing from a broad base of knowledge from related subject areas in the social and natural sciences. The Specialization in Water Science can be taken in conjunction with the Four-Year B.Sc. or B.Sc. Honours degrees in Geography. The specialization is designed to provide students with a strong and structured physical understanding of the hydrological processes that affect the quantity and movement of surface and near-surface waters and the impacts of human activities on water supply and characteristics. Opportunities exist within the Specialization for students to explore atmosphere - land surface interactions through the application of Geographic Information Science technology in hydrological modelling, to explore ecosystem interactions of water, and to better understand the linkages between water, landscape and climate. Students are trained in the fundamental background and key practical skills required to address the emerging water problems in Canada.
