Neuroscience addresses questions about the brain, mind, and behaviour using the methods of cellular and molecular biology, genetics, imaging, and cognitive science. It is an interdisciplinary field that has experienced rapid growth in the last two decades. In addition to examining basic processes of the brain and nervous system from the molecular and cellular level to behaviour and cognition, the field also offers enormous promise for the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the brain and nervous system. The Honors Specialization provides training in neuroscience with an emphasis on its diversity of questions, approaches and methods, critical evaluation of current research, and opportunities for research experience in the senior year of the program.
