Now more than ever, the most important skill for any educated person is advanced literacy: not just the ability to read, but to read critically, to analyze, to question. Studies of English, French, and their literatures give you the thinking skills that help you understand the manifold texts you encounter every day.
Our faculty are dedicated instructors who also maintain active research programs, all of which keeps courses in English and French vital and up-to-date. With one of the largest complements of full-time faculty at CBU, the Department of Languages and Letters offers more choices than most for students doing concentrations, majors, or picking up electives.
Students apply after completing 60 credits of study.
