Political Science at StFX is where students explore different perspectives on government systems. Many classes focus on the careers of political leaders tasked with ensuring justice and structure in society. They look at the policies that determine critical international issues, such as the distribution of wealth between prosperous and developing countries, and the advance of conflict among nations.
Many Political Science students go on to graduate studies that will allow them to pursue careers in government as decision makers, strategy analysts and policy advisors. Aspiring journalists will also benefit from a degree in Political Science, as news media are in constant need of writers and broadcasters who can dissect and simplify political processes and developments. Many graduates have also gone on to successful careers in communications representing government agencies and politicians.
