Playing a role in the community outside the classroom contributes to your academic and personal growth. There are so many ways for you to play a bigger role and get the most of being a student in Canada.

At Lakehead, you can join one of over 50 clubs and associations including the African Caribbean Student Association, the Badminton Club, Lakehead Engineers Without Borders, Lakehead University Anime & Manga, and many more. Clubs are the cornerstone of student life at Lakehead. Whether you're interested in sports, movies, video games, politics, or academics, we have a club to get you involved and to broaden the way you experience university. Almost anyone can join any club on campus, and it takes only a bit of effort to start one yourself! Through student clubs, you have to chance to have fun, meet people you wouldn’t normally see in class, and become an active member of the Lakehead University community. Check out all of Lakehead’s clubs and Athletics.

When it comes to recreation, our Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses are known for their nature-rich environments where you can take in the beauty of the area whether you are walking, jogging, rollerblading, bicycling, or, in the winter, cross-country skiing.

At Lakehead, your experiences outside the classroom can be recognized on your Co-Curricular Record which is a personal record of all of your extracurricular and leadership activities while in university. It validates all your hard work while highlighting the learning outcomes and non-academic skills you’ve gained by being involved – and it’s a great complement to your resume when applying to jobs.

Make the most of what we offer – get involved, have fun and show your Thunderwolf spirit.
